NEW according to STIKO recommendation RSV immunization

Dear parents,
Since June 2024, there has been an official STIKO immunization recommendation to protect all babies and newborns from the RS virus in their 1st winter season. The virus can cause severe respiratory disorders in newborns as well as very severe inflammation of the small bronchi/transitional lung tissue. Many hospital admissions result from the infection, even in healthy babies, and in some cases the bronchial tubes remain damaged for a long time as a result of an asthmatic reaction to banal respiratory tract infections. Immunization with a single injection has a very good protective effect in the winter period (October to March). Babies born from April to September should receive protection in the fall before the start of the season (September to November) if possible. Babies born between October and March should be protected as soon as possible after birth. We would very much like to offer you this protection, as we are convinced of its effectiveness and unfortunately know the consequences of RSV too well. A document regarding cost coverage for health insurance is available from us. If you have any questions, please contact us at any time.
